From the studio archive, described from the render itself.
What the render shows
A double-height apartment living room with a stone fireplace wall, a floating stair and full-height glazing.
How it was built
A wide view from the seating area takes in the stair, the fireplace and the glazing; the fire is lit so the stone wall has a focal point.
Deliverable
One interior render.
What this render has to do
This is one of the studio's own interior renders, so it is best read as an example of the genre rather than a commissioned job. The genre is the hero living room: a single image that must carry the scale, the finish level and the mood of a premium residence.
A double-height space with a lit fireplace, a floating stair and a wall of glass is a strong test of that, because it asks the image to feel warm and architectural at once. Pictures like this usually open a brochure spread, a portal listing or a display-suite panel, and they are judged in seconds. The frame therefore does one thing well: it makes the room feel generous.
Materials, light and camera
The frame is a wide landscape crop taken from seated height in the middle of the room, which keeps the fireplace on the central axis and lets the stair climb on the left. A tall, pale-grey feature wall with a cast-concrete texture rises above a dark stone-faced firebox, so the flames become the warmest point in an otherwise cool palette.
The stair has floating timber treads, a slim black balustrade and glass, set against fluted white panelling with an indoor planting bed tucked beneath. Cream modular seating, two tan leather lounge chairs, a stone-topped coffee table and a woven rug anchor the floor. Daylight enters through full-height sliding glazing onto a leafy terrace.
What to watch for in this type of brief
Double-height rooms fail in predictable ways. Verticals lean if the lens is tilted, so the camera should stay level and the crop should do the work. Furniture drawn too small makes the ceiling feel taller than the drawings allow, which creates false expectations.
Fire is a light source: too strong and the stone looks scorched, too weak and it looks pasted on. Glazing needs a believable exterior, since a blown-out white window flattens the room. A stair also needs its own drawing, because treads, fixings and balustrade height all show at this scale. Tell us which of these your drawings already settle and which are still open, and we will model accordingly.
Working with us on a similar project
If you need a hero interior of this kind, begin with the plan, a section and the joinery elevations, plus reference images for the stair or fireplace. Interiors start from A$345, we quote a fixed price inside one business day, and a first draft normally lands within 5 to 7 business days.
Our turnaround guide explains how that time divides between modelling, draft and revisions, and the 3D rendering cost guide shows how complexity changes the price. If you are new to the process, what 3D rendering is covers the basics in plain language, and our architectural visualisation work extends from a single room to a whole building. Payment is 50% to start and 50% on draft approval.
Questions
Interior: questions clients ask
We keep the camera level, choose a lens that holds the full height without stretching the walls, and often crop wide rather than tilting. A section drawing is the most useful input, because it fixes the ceiling height, the stair rise and the position of any bulkheads.
Yes. We treat the flames as a light source and balance them against daylight so the surrounding stone still reads correctly. Tell us whether you want a gas flame or a log fire, because the colour and shape differ. An unlit option is also possible.
Yes. A second material option or a dusk version is quoted as an addition to the base interior, which starts from A$345. Settling the preferred scheme before the draft keeps revisions focused, and you have up to four revision rounds.
