The brief

A hotel refurbishment team needed interior visuals of two suites — each with a living view, a bedroom view and a bathroom view — with the living views also produced with a figure in shot.

Our approach

Finishes came straight from the schedule: soft white walls and joinery, a marble fireplace, oiled oak Versailles floor panels, leather upholstery, mohair velvet curtains with a pelmet over the bay, and 3.7-metre ceilings. Late-afternoon lighting and table dressing were added at the designers' request.

The result

Eight interiors delivered over six weeks, with the full set re-issued after the design team's mark-up round.

What this render has to do

Refurbished hotel suites are sold on atmosphere but approved on detail. These eight interiors cover two suites, each with a living view, a bedroom view and a bathroom view, and the living views were also produced with a figure in shot. The designers needed images they could stand behind, so the render had to follow their finishes schedule closely instead of improvising a pleasing look.

With 3.7-metre ceilings the rooms have real volume, and the camera has to show it without distortion. The images show how generous the spaces will feel once the refurbishment is complete. Getting that right is what makes the designers comfortable sending the pictures on to their own client.

Materials, light and camera

Finishes came straight from the schedule: soft white walls and joinery, a marble fireplace, oiled oak Versailles floor panels, leather upholstery and mohair velvet curtains with a pelmet over the bay. In the renders you can read them. A four-poster bed sits against botanical wallpaper beside a teal velvet sofa, a second bedroom pairs teal curtains with pale damask paper, and a marble bathroom has a textured freestanding bath, brass taps and a black-and-white triangle floor.

Late-afternoon light was added at the designers' request, raking through tall windows to warm the oak and glass. Table dressing, from a bar cart to lit bookshelves and a billiard table, makes the living areas feel inhabited, and figures give scale and show how the suites will be used.

How a set like this is built

We modelled the suites from the design team's drawings, applied finishes straight from the schedule, then lit and dressed each view. The first set went out for the design team's mark-up, and once those comments arrived the full set of eight was re-issued, so finishes stayed consistent across both suites. The work ran over six weeks.

Re-issuing the whole set after a mark-up round is a deliberate habit on hospitality work. A change to the floor or a curtain fabric affects several views, and an updated set stops the old finish surviving in one forgotten image. Our briefing guide covers drawings, schedules and sample photographs.

Where the images go

Hospitality renders serve several audiences in turn: the hotel client approving the design, the contractor reading finishes and, later, the marketing team. Commercial visualisation like this gives a design team something to put in front of the client months before samples can be seen on site.

Pricing follows scope. For a hospitality set, interior renders start from A$345 per view, and a suite with three views plus a figure variant gets a single fixed quote after we see the drawings. Our 3D rendering cost guide sets out what drives the price, and architectural visualisation for hotels can add lobbies, corridors and exteriors to the same package.
