A selection from the delivered set.

The brief

An architect's client had to choose between two kitchen layouts and wanted each rendered from the same two camera positions with the specified table, chairs and appliances.

Our approach

Both layouts were built from the plan and the annotated option drawings, with the named appliances modelled accurately. Two rounds of mark-ups were run through the client's design tool, and a sink-unit discrepancy between the layouts was queried before rendering.

The result

Four renders delivered in two days.

What this render has to do

A layout decision is hard to make from a plan. This set shows one room twice: option one with a freestanding island and a separate bench run, option two with the units drawn into a continuous U-shaped bench. Each option is rendered from two matching camera positions, a wide view from the dining end and a closer view down the length of the kitchen, so the only thing that changes between images is the layout.

That discipline is the whole point. If the lens, the light and the furniture move as well, the eye compares pictures instead of plans. Flick between the two wide views and the island disappears and the peninsula takes its place, while the table, chairs and appliances stay exactly where they were.

Materials, light and camera

The palette is strong enough that the layout, not the styling, carries the decision. Walnut-toned cabinetry runs up to the ceiling, a green marble splashback glows under a warm strip beneath the wall units, and white benchtops and a white table stop the dark timber closing the room in. Moulded yellow chairs supply the single accent colour.

Behind it all sit an exposed brick wall, black steel beams and rooflights that spill daylight over a pale timber floor, with glazed doors opening to a courtyard at the far end. Because that shell is identical in all four images, the brick, beams and glazing act as a fixed reference while the cabinetry rearranges around them.

How a set like this is built

We start from the plan and the annotated option drawings rather than a single sketch. Both layouts live in one model, so the shell, glazing and furniture are shared, and the named appliances are modelled to their real proportions instead of being approximated.

Before anything is rendered we query whatever the drawings do not agree on. Here a sink unit sat differently between the two options, and it was raised before it reached a draft rather than discovered in review. Mark-ups then came back in two rounds through the client's own design tool, which pins each comment to the exact spot. If you are working from plans, our 3D rendering from house plans page explains what we need, and the briefing guide shows how to annotate options so they read clearly.

Working with us on a similar project

Send the plan and your option drawings, and tell us which items must stay identical in every view: table, stools, appliances, finishes. We confirm the camera positions with you first, then quote. Interior views start from A$345, the quote is fixed and arrives within one business day, and our usual turnaround is five to seven business days. This four-image comparison went out in two days.

Half is paid to start and half when you approve the draft, with up to four rounds of revisions in between. Our turnaround guide explains what speeds a job up, and the 3D rendering cost guide shows how view count and complexity move a quote.
