The brief

A developer marketing a housing scheme ordered three house types as individual renders and three street scenes taken from the site plan showing several types together, after an earlier front view of a semi-detached pair.

Our approach

Windows, doors and driveways were detailed to match the earlier render so the whole set reads as one development. Review comments added smooth ashlar stone details and refined the landscaping, driveways and parking.

The result

Seven exterior renders across two orders, delivered to a shared folder.

What this render has to do

A housing development needs two kinds of picture: the individual home, and the street the buyer will live on. This set supplies both, three house types as individual renders and three street scenes taken from the site plan, with several types seen together. That makes seven 3D exterior renders in total, following an earlier front view of a semi-detached pair that set the visual standard.

Matching that earlier image was part of the brief. Windows, doors and driveways were detailed to agree with it, so the whole set reads as one development rather than a collection of separate commissions. Buyers read the street first and the individual home second, so both views matter.

Materials, light and camera

The scheme uses a consistent palette: red-brown brick at ground level, pale render above, grey slate roofs, dormers, glazed gables and a balcony on one type. Driveways are block paving with a pinkish tone, hedges are clipped and young trees soften the street. Cars on the drives give scale, and a curved road gives the street scenes depth.

The light is bright afternoon sun with soft clouds, so brick, render and roof all hold their colour. Street scenes use eye-level cameras that include several house types in one frame, while individual renders get a closer, straighter view that shows each facade's proportions. Review comments added smooth ashlar stone details and refined the landscaping, driveways and parking.

How a set like this is built

Street scenes are built from the site plan, so house positions, set-backs and road geometry follow the layout rather than an artist's guess. Each house type is modelled once and placed wherever it appears, which keeps details identical between the individual views and the streets. Because details live in one model, a change requested in review, such as the stone detailing, carries through every view that shows that house.

Seven renders were delivered across two orders to a shared folder. The second order matched the first because the earlier model, materials and camera style were carried forward. Our guide for property developers explains how to stage orders, and our briefing guide lists the site-plan details we need to place houses correctly.

Variants and extras

Developers use sets like this on sales hoardings, in brochures, on portal listings and in house-and-land packages. The street scenes are also useful when a scheme includes duplexes and dual occupancies alongside detached homes, because one frame shows how different building types sit together.

Planning submissions are a different job: verified views need surveyed camera positions and accuracy checks, so we treat them separately from marketing renders. Pricing begins at A$445 for an exterior view, with a fixed quote returned inside one business day. Showing the street as well as the home helps a buyer judge neighbours, parking and planting, which a single front view cannot.
